Biography

Kanani Datan joined LAMF's Business & Legal Affairs department in 2020. Prior to joining LAMF, she worked as an associate attorney for Donaldson + Callif where she primarily represented production companies in all stages of their projects including finance, development, rights acquisition, production, clearance, distribution, and trademark. She also worked in-house for the NFL and Platform One Media and as a law clerk for Lowe & Associates, an entertainment litigation firm. Kanani received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from Southwestern Law School with a concentration in Entertainment & Media Law with honors. She is a member of the California State Bar.

Kanani Datan joined Beyond's Business & Legal Affairs department in 2020. Her role quickly evolved, as she is now also a certified NFL Agent. Prior to joining Beyond, she worked as an associate attorney for Donaldson + Callif, where she primarily represented production companies in all stages of their projects including finance, development, rights acquisition, production, clearance, distribution and trademark. She has also worked in-house for the NFL in its upstart Digital Media business affairs department. Kanani received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was a four-year student-athlete on the softball team. She earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School, with a concentration in Entertainment & Media Law, with honors. She is a member of the California State Bar.
