Nadah El Shazly

Nadah El Shazly is an artist, producer and film composer from Cairo, now based in Montreal. Since releasing her critically-acclaimed debut album 'Ahwar', she has become a pillar of the Egyptian underground; in 2018, she appeared on the cover of the British experimental-music magazine The Wire, in an issue announcing "Cairo's New Wave." In 2022, Nadah scored Fyzal Boulifa's award-winning feature The Damned Don't Cry which earned her two awards for Best Film Score at Dublin & Bordeaux film festivals. Since then, she has scored Mahmoud Sabbagh's feature Last Party in R. Desert! from the Saudi Barakah Meets Barakah director, and in 2024 she completed BAFTA-nominated director Mahdi Fleifel's feature To A Land Unknown, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival.
