Biography

Affectionately known among her peers in the Industry as "Mae," Maya Chaney was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. Early in her life, Maya always participated in school, church and community productions. However, she always had her sights on gracing the big screen one day. So, she began pursuing her acting and modeling at the age of 12 years old. Maya was signed by Mainline Models and began her pursuit as an actress and a model. As a model, she had the opportunity to grace the runway of Macy's Fashion Shows in the Philadelphia area and in the Wilmington, Delaware area. Maya also had the opportunity to dawn the fashions of Philadelphia Couture Designs known as "Clothigami," in their annual fashion show. She also was signed to represent Versace Fragrance, as a Fragrance Model for their Christmas Extravaganza held in Macy Dept. Stores. Although Maya enjoyed modeling and booked several modeling projects, she signed with Nine9 and Stisa Talent. These two agencies provided Maya the opportunity to be booked for the following projects: Derek Jeter Tribute Video; EA3 (sitcom) / Lead role; RN, Real Nurses (supporting role); NBC Sports Commercial for Nascar; Background work on Greenleaf (OWN) and Deliah (OWN); Short Film, Hair Daze (Beats by Dre)/ Principle Role.
