Biography

Christopher J. Barfoot MA (Chris) created award-winning productions- broadcast with ITV (LWT, Meridian etc), NBC Universal Sci/Fi Channel and Sky Movies. Working with S16 and 35MM in the Nineties and early Noughties- he quit the biz for a decade and then went to University to catch up with the current tech, gaining a BA (Hons) and a Masters in Film Production- graduating in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

Chris has penned a slate of features, debuting with 'Idiots Anonymous'... a feature- shooting; Southern England - April 2025.

Microsoft broadcast his first film (short- S16MM) 'Phoenix' from La Croisette in Cannes in 1997.

The UK Government HMRC gave Chris' company Anglo American Pictures - EIS Assurance in July 2022. It is believed to be the first such tax incentive to assist film production since October 2018 when HMRC ceased to offer film EIS. Chris will initially direct three features under this 'break'.

Idiots Anonymous was written in a single night. It is a dialogue-led feature set in a group therapy class in NY. Most of Chris' screenplays take several months to evolve but the dialogues with ID ANON just flowed. "It's basically a ninety minute argument between nine people. I'm not sure where these characters came from, there's some weird stories that get drawn out here.".

This feature is a ten-header... It will comprise of three days rehearsal and three days of shooting. Imagine a theatre play... dialogue heavy, a word-rich battle of wits... This is it... all must know their lines... One location, one room, one scene... Idiots Anonymous.
