Romualdo Amaral is a Brazilian Visualization and VFX Artist, Director and Filmmaker based in Los Angeles. His work spans previs, postvis, techvis, animation and visual effects for feature film and episodic productions, with credits on projects including Wicked, Thunderbolts*, Captain America: Brave New World, Stranger Things and other major studio productions.
Amaral holds an MFA in 3D Animation and Visual Effects from Academy of Art University, a Certificate in Film Directing from UCLA, and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Uberlandia. Alongside his VFX career, he has directed animated and live-action short films including Steve's Catch (2019), Turkey Sandwich and Small as a Pea (2025). His current work increasingly explores the intersection of visualization, filmmaking and AI-assisted production workflows.
