Natalie Usher is a qualified lawyer with more than twenty years' experience working with media clients. As of 2022 she is the Chief Executive of Film Access Scotland, the film access sector development organisation, and an independent consultant based between Edinburgh and London, Natalie has been working closely with documentary makers on the financing and production side for more than fifteen years. Natalie was the UK Film Council's in-house legal advisor to the New Cinema Fund, the production fund dedicated to innovative approaches to filmmaking and the development of new talent. She moved from there to be a partner in the Film and TV Group at Lee & Thompson, one of the UK's leading Media and Entertainment law firms, where she specialised in financing, production and distribution. As Director of Screen at Creative Scotland for four years from May 2014 until March 2018, Natalie was responsible for leading public support for Scotland's film and TV industry.

Natalie is also an ambassador for Raising Films, which supports, promote and campaigns for parents and carers in the UK screen sector.

Natalie also spent time as Senior Counsel at HIT Entertainment and, before that, as Head of Business Affairs at Gullane Entertainment.
