Biography

Antonina Zabinska was born on July 18, 1908 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. She was married to Jan Zabinski. She died on March 19, 1971 in Warsaw, Mazowieckie, Poland.

In 2008, she was posthumously awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.

She was buried at the Powazki Cemetery in Warsaw.

Writer, wife of the organizer and long-time director of the Zoological Garden in Warsaw. During World War II, together with her husband, she kept Jews in the deserted garden of the Jews who had escaped from the ghetto. For this activity in 1965 she was honored with the title of Righteous Among the Nations.
