Biography

Alessandro Sarti was born in Pontassieve, where he still lives. He was Councilor in Culture in Pontassieve's city council. He took part in a lot of humanitarian missions in favor of Saharawi population, he participated in the World Panafrican Congress in Benin. He wrote on "Eco d'arte moderna", he still writes on "La Toscana", he curated artistic events in Italy and abroad (United States, Brasil, France, Germany, China). In 2013 he wrote the book "Intervenite numerosi! Piccole storie tra Casa del Popolo e Sacrestia intorno a Pontassieve", edited by Sarnus, which has already had a second printing and won the prizes Silver Cornstalk in Montespertoli, "Segnalato Giubbe Rosse" in the historical literary cafe in Florence, "La Pergola Arte" in Florence in 2014; the book was also second place in the national competition for fiction in Prata Sannita, and it got a Merit Mention at the 23rd edition of the Florence Prize and at the Tuscanian Writer of the Year in 2014. In 2015 "Che musical Maestro! Dallo Chalet albereta all'Amicizia, dal Tartaruga alla Mecca, sino alle radio libere" came out, also edited by Sarnus. In 2016 "Il Bardiccio! Non fatevi infinocchiare" came out, edited by Polistampa, out of which Alessandro made a short movie. In 2017 he wrote "L'impiegato assoluto", edited by Polistampa. In 2017 he also started shooting "Saranno Famosi?", which won a lot of prizes: Ponte Vecchio Prize, Lorenzo Magnifico Prize, best film production at TWF Tuscany Web Film Festival in Porcari, Special Prize Cinema and Solidarity at the 69th edition of International Short Film Festival in Montecatini. In 2019 "Sergio Forconi uno spettacolo d'uomo" came out, edited by Sarnus, winning the bronze medal at Florence Prize. In 2019 he also started shooting a movie about Leonardo da Vinci, "Quel genio del mio amico", which came out in 2021. For the Pontassieve's Historical Parade he edited "Nel mezzo del cammin...", a photo book about Dante Alighieri's 700 years, ed. La Scriveria. In Summer 2021 he shot "Pievecchia 8 Giugno 1944", a short movie about a tragic massacre where fourteen Pontassieve citizens were brutally gunned down by the Nazis.
