Mateen Missaghi is a cinematographer based in Vaughan, Ontario. His career began at sixteen, when discovered by a talent manager in Toronto. In his final year of high school, Mateen won the Best Cinematography award at TIFF's Next Wave Showcase for his debut short film "Chicago Undercover". This recognition earned his admission to York University's Film Production program, where he trained extensively as a Director of Photography and various other positions in the industry. Mateen has worked as a cinematographer on numerous short and feature-length narrative films, documentaries, series, and commercials. In 2023, he served as a digital producer for the travel documentary series How I Got Here, which was filmed across five countries. Mateen also works in camera, grip, and electric departments.
