Biography

Eliza Gill was born and raised in New York. Their love for cinema came from hours of watching The Wizard of Oz on a loop. An only child with an enormous imagination, Eliza wove stories for the local turtles about adventure and magic. They spent the majority of their childhood with their mom working in the Bronx Zoo and aim to integrate their art into wildlife conservation efforts.

Eliza's turtle Pumpkin has been with them since they were seven years old. Pumpkin is an eastern box turtle who loves berries, grilled chicken, Real Housewives of New Jersey, and sunny days.

Eliza spent nearly a decade training to be a herpetologist with The Bronx Zoo. Their mom introduced them to the zookeepers in the Reptile House when Eliza was 10. Eliza's mother needed a sitter during her Saturdays so she left Eliza with the reptile house keepers. One day they decided to let Eliza help out. From age 10-19 they volunteered weekly working with geckos, turtles, and a wide variety of reptiles.
