Nicole Higgins is an American with New Zealand citizenship writer, director, actor, and IATSE crew member based in Los Angeles. Drawing from her own experiences with recovery, single motherhood, and working behind the scenes in film production, she creates dark comedies centered on complicated women navigating impossible circumstances with grit, humor, and heart.
Her proof-of-concept pilot CVNT, which she wrote, directed, and stars in, made its World Premiere in the Indie Episodic section of the 2026 Tribeca Festival before continuing its festival run at Bentonville Film Festival, Dances With Films LA, Lighthouse International Film Festival, and Oak Cliff Film Festival. Greenpoint Film Festival, Deep Cut Film Festival where CVNT is nominated for several awards including: Best Film, Best Edit, Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Actress, and Coolest Poster.
Before stepping behind the camera, Nicole spent years working on major studio productions as a grip and best boy grip, contributing to projects including Captain America: Brave New World, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Ironheart, Megalopolis, Saturday Night, Civil War, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. That production experience continues to inform her filmmaking, allowing her to bridge creative storytelling with practical execution.
As an actor, Nicole has appeared in television and independent features while also developing her own original work. She is developing several new projects (2026), including the workplace comedy Basecamp and the psychological thriller Warped, both rooted in the authentic worlds she knows firsthand.
Nicole is passionate about telling bold, female-driven stories that challenge expectations while finding humor in life's messiest moments.
