Biography

Dylan LaRay is an award-winning writer, director, and actor from Flagstaff, Arizona. In 2022, he made his feature film debut playing the lead role in Fang (2022), an independent horror drama featuring cult film star, Lynn Lowry. In 2024, LaRay booked his first costar role on a major network episodic in HBO’s Task (2025) opposite Mark Ruffalo before pivoting to work behind the camera. In 2026, LaRay graduated with his MFA in Film Production from the City College of New York where he produced a number of short films, including his thesis film, Like Strangers (2026), with support from BAFTA North America and the Ovstrovsky Family Fund. Additionally, he has starred in, written, and directed numerous award-winning short films. Most notably, his short documentary, Voces Transcendentes (2026), won the LGBTQIA+ Image Award and was named runner-up for Best Graduate Documentary at the CUNY Film Festival before the film was licensed for public broadcast by CUNY TV. In addition to his film work, LaRay is a veteran stage actor, writer, and director with a BA in Theatre Arts from the University of Arizona. His professional stage credits include "Hamlet" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival, "Dracula" and "Frankenstein" at the Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre Company, "Nothing's Plenty for Me" at Theatre Row (Off-Off Broadway), and "The Camino Project" at Theatre Y in Chicago.
