Biography

David Lebolt

Mini bio

  • Composer/producer Dave Lebolt offers an eclectic musical identity that blends traditional orchestration, a wide popular music vocabulary and cutting-edge alternate instrumentation and treatments.

Starting out as a NYC-based keyboardist, Dave toured and/or recorded with artists like David Bowie, Laurie Anderson, Billy Joel, Power Station, Foreigner, Julian Lennon, Chaka Khan, Roberta Flack, as well as contributing to major film scores working with John Barry, Michel Colombier and Marvin Hamlisch.

He began scoring while in NY, capturing a Clio, penned daytime TV themes/scores, arranged for Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Starlight Express, and scored Jim Henson's Emmy-nominated Song of the Cloud Forest.

Due to a long-standing interest in technology, Dave moved to the S.F. Bay Area and ended up guiding a 15 year evolution of Pro Tools and its family of products, truly revolutionizing the audio industry and garnering an Oscar for technical achievement. He led Avid Technology's Digidesign audio division as GM for 6 years, generating double-digit growth and managing more than 800 employees and $300M in revenue.

Today, Dave is focused on film/TV composition, commercial scoring and album projects.
