  • Ryan Marley is a filmmaker and television director best known for his work in documentary, factual, and kids TV. He has been nominated for 4 Canadian Screen Awards and has directed over 30 series and documentaries. Recent projects include the ground-breaking documentary series 'Employable Me' which tells the stories of job seekers who prove that having a physical disability or neurological condition shouldn't make them unemployable. The series won the Diversify TV Excellence Award at MIPCOM 2017 & 2020, a 2018, 2019 & 2020 Rockie Award, and won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Factual Series. His documentary 'Sitting Tall: The Patrick Anderson Story' examines the background and career of Patrick Anderson, the greatest wheelchair basketball player of all time, as he prepares for the Paralympic Games in Tokyo. It was featured at the 2021 Awareness Film Festival and the 2021 New York Shorts International Film Festival where it won Best Documentary. In 2022, Marley's documentary 'Candidato 34' was in competition at four Oscar qualifying festivals: Cleveland International Film Festival, Hawaii International Film Festival, Durban International Film Festival and the Rhode Island International Film Festival. Ryan has just finished directing multiple episodes of A&E shows 'Hoarders' and 'Intervention', along with two seasons of the iconic Japanese format 'Old Enough'. His current doc feature, 'The Blind Couple From Mali' is in competition at festivals around the world including CPH:DOX, FIPADOC, and Le FIFA where it just won Best Canadian Feature. The film is being released theatrically in Canada, France and across Africa.
