Jacob McCaslin was born in Karlstad, Sweden, and moved to the United States as a child. Growing up, he frequently relocated with his family, an experience that shaped his early interest in music and film as creative outlets.
McCaslin graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music with a B.A. in Music Production & Engineering. As a recording engineer and producer, he has collaborated with artists including Stevie Wonder, Byron Miller, and Bon Iver. He also contributed to early recordings by Sasha Alex Sloan that preceded her first publishing deal with Warner Music Group.
In addition to his work in music production and engineering, McCaslin directs music videos and other visual projects. His filmmaking draws inspiration from directors such as David Fincher and Spike Jonze.
