Jada Kai grew up in Philadelphia, PA in a household that adhered to strict Catholic values. Her Filipino parents pushed her into athletics, where she excelled in figure skating. From age 14 all the way to college, Jada skated for Team USA, then switched to Team Phillippines and competed with them for two years.
