- Damien is an Australian Production Designer and Art Director with extensive experience across feature films, commercials, and television. His film credits include Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, Niki Caro’s live-action Mulan, Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, The Great Gatsby, Superman Returns, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, and The Wachowskis’ Sense8.
He won a U.S. Art Directors Guild Award for The Great Gatsby. The film also received two Academy Awards and two BAFTAs for Costume and Production Design. Most recently, Elvis earned Oscar and BAFTA nominations for Best Production Design. Damien has received three U.S. Art Directors Guild nominations for Best Production Design (Elvis, Mulan, Superman Returns), an AACTA nomination for Tomorrow, When the War Began, and an APDG Craft Award for Art Direction on Alien: Covenant.
In the commercial arena, Damien has collaborated with award-winning directors including Aaron Stoller, Glue Society, Simon McQuoid, Fiona McGee, Tom Kunst, Andreas Nilsson, KingShe, Matt Devine, Husein Alicajic, Justin Kurzel, Steve Rogers, Nick Ball, Patrick Hughes, Scott Pickett, Gary Freedman, Jeff Darling, Frank Miller, Scott Otto Anderson, and Nick Robertson. He earned an APDG nomination for Best Production Design on Frank Miller’s Gucci Guilty commercial starring Chris Evans and Evan Rachel Wood, and won the 2023 and 2024 APDG Awards for Best Production Design for Glue Society’s Alpro - Earth Day TVC and KingShe’s eBay - Everyone Has a Thing.
Drawing on his architectural training, he focuses on creating immersive environments, storytelling, and the relationship between Production Design and character. He recently wrapped as Supervising Art Director on Sam Raimi’s survival thriller Send Help.
