Biography

Emese Liliom is an award-winning Hungarian film editor, director, and educator, recognized for her emotionally powerful and visually precise storytelling. Her multi-award-winning short Farkasok (Wolves, 2019) and two acclaimed episodes of the documentary series Romokból (2023) showcase her ability to capture both the raw energy of urban subcultures and the depth of human resilience.

Her credits also include the feature documentary Cickom - Büvös Bábos Gyermekkor (2025), portraying how puppet theatre education-from early childhood workshops to the university's puppetry program-helps young people discover their strengths, find joy in life, and even transform the paths of those who might otherwise be left behind. She also edited the music videos BINÄR - Desire and Clayfeet - Evolve, both recognized at international festivals. Over the years, her work has earned multiple awards and nominations from festivals such as Best Shorts Competition, Canada Shorts Film Festival, and Kosice International Monthly Film Festival.

Beyond editing, Emese develops and leads creative education programs, including the MOZAIK hybrid film course and the upcoming MÜHELY documentary series on traditional crafts. She is open to international collaborations, especially on independent projects that seek authenticity and emotional impact.
