Biography

Denny Clairmont was born on December 24, 1935 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA. He was an actor and cinematographer, known for Reflections of Passion (1975), Laserblast (1978) and The World Is Just a 'B' Movie (1971). He died on May 11, 2020 in Mill Valley, California, USA.

Son of cinematographer Leonard Clairmont and older brother of Terry Clairmont.

He, Terry Clairmont, and Edward and Mitzie Engle founded camera rental company Clairmont/Engle in Hollywood in 1976. When the Engles retired in 1980, the name was changed to Clairmont Camera. The company was a massive success and became one of the largest of its kind in the world, with other facilities opening in Albuquerque, New Mexico and in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, Canada. Denny retired in 2017, after selling the company to Culver City-based Keslow Camera.

Died after suffering a fall in the kitchen at his home in Mill Valley, California.
