Hamed Aslani is an Iranian production designer, art director, and filmmaker whose work spans cinema, theatre, and visual arts. He has contributed to the production design of more than 50 short films and several feature films, collaborating with filmmakers including Bahman Ghobadi, Behnam Behzadi, Vahid Jalilvand, Fereydoun Jeyrani, Ali Asgari, and Alireza Khatami.
His production design credits include Terrestrial Verses, directed by Ali Asgari and Alireza Khatami, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and In the Land of Brothers, directed by Raha Amirfazli and Alireza Ghasemi, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and later screened at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. He also worked as production designer on The Bora, which screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Vancouver International Film Festival.
Aslani was nominated for Best Production Design at the Iranian Short Film Academy Awards (ISFA) for Visiting Time. In 2025, he was selected for Berlinale Talents in the Production Design discipline. He is also a member of the Production Designers Collective (PDC).
His international work includes Shepherd’s Dream, directed by Bahman Ghobadi, on which he worked in production and costume design.
Alongside his work as a production designer and art director, Aslani is a director and screenwriter. His short films include Seasickness, S, Amateur, and Z. His practice moves between filmmaking and visual arts, with a particular interest in the relationship between space, image, and narrative.
