Philippe Mercier is a member of the Cinema Audio Society and Award winning Production Sound Mixer known for his work on X MEN: Apocalypse (2016), X MEN: Dark Phoenix (2018) and Jack Ryan (2018).
He has recorded sound for picture on Feature films, TV dramas and documentaries for 25 years. Formally trained, Philippe graduated Engineering from Harris Institute for the Arts, Toronto Canada in 1996. Is early career was spent working as a freelance sound recordist on multiple documentary series. His work with co-productions brought him to film in over 30 countries.
Phillippe is head of sound on TV drama's and Feature films since 2004. As a result, he has pioneered a number of innovative techniques for recording multi-track dialogue on film sets. He as excellent knowledge and experience. Getting the job done with minimum fuss while protecting the actor's performance is the main goal, as well as getting as many options as possible to help the post-production process.
In Canada, Philippe won the Gemini Award for "Best sound Documentary" in 2002. in 2008 he was honored with two Gemini nominations for "best sound Drama" for two different drama series. In 2016 a Gemini nomination for "Best sound Drama" for the series: Blue Moon.
Since 2015 Philippe has mostly collaborated with Hollywood studio productions filming on location in Montreal. Fully equipped for location sound recording, Philippe is highly talented, professional and respected member of the industry.
Philippe Mercier has two beautiful daughters. Charlie and Clara. He lives in the Laurentians near Montreal, Canada.
