Federico Durán is producer, writer & director known for Mil Colmillos TV series, El Páramo (aka The Squad) (2011), Alias María (2015), The story of the pink trunk & Our Lady of the Assassins. He produced Mil Colmillos (post), the first series by HBO in Colombia, acting as show runner & producer. It's an action, suspense & horror series created & directed by Jaime Osorio, co-created by Guillermo Escalona & directed also by Pablo González & José Luis Rugeles. With more than 20 titles between feature films and series, his experience ranges from the creation and work of writer's room, to post-production, promotion and release. He is a showrunner and creative producer very dedicated to each stage of production. He has co-produced with France, Spain, USA, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, among others. He combines his production activity with writing and directing.

He graduated as a producer from the EICTV of Cuba in 1996. He specialized in Digital Post at the ESCAC in Barcelona in 1998. He graduated from the Film School of the National University of Colombia in 2004.

He has taught at the Film School of the National University of Colombia, in the Postgraduate Of Audiovisual of the Faculty of Communication of the Javeriana University, in the undergraduate of Audiovisual Arts of the Javeriana University, in the Audiovisual Conservatory and in Executive Production workshops of the National School of Cinema, in the Diploma of Executive Production of the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga, in the workshops I have a film of Proimágenes, and in the Production Specialty of the Regular Course of the International School of Film and Television of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, among others.

He began his professional career as a development producer and executive producer of Tucán Producciones, working with the late Jaime Osorio Gómez, with whom he produced 3 feature films in addition to other projects. He then partnered with Rhayuela Films, with whom he has produced the vast majority of his filmography, in addition to several hundred advertising campaigns. He was CEO of this company between 2004 and 2018, at which time he held the position of VP of International Productions and was completely dedicated to the development and production of series and films.

He is a founding member and vice president of ASOCINDE (Association of Independent Film and Audiovisual Producers of Colombia). He is also a founding member of Somos-ACP (Colombian Association of Advertising Producers), and has been a representative of the producers on the board of directors of Proimagenes and on the Film Commission of Bogotá.
