Scott Ryan Paulson, professionally known as "The Rooster of Tucson," is an American media personality, retired professional wrestler, voice actor, puppeteer, musician, television horror host, independent producer, graphic designer, video editor, journalist, and podcast host. His career has spanned more than three decades across professional wrestling, broadcasting, voice acting, music, horror entertainment, digital media, and independent production.

Raised in Southern California, Paulson overcame a troubled past that included struggles with substance abuse and gang influence before achieving sobriety in 2013. Since then, he has dedicated his life to promoting personal accountability, resilience, recovery, self-improvement, awareness, corruption and physical fitness through his media platforms and public work.

Paulson first gained national recognition as one of the most recognizable figures in the backyard wrestling movement under the ring name Karnage. His performances were featured in The Backyard documentary and throughout the Backyard Wrestling DVD series. He also appeared as the second boss character in the video game Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This at Home alongside the Insane Clown Posse.

His success led to a 16-year professional wrestling career. Paulson trained under Frank "The Flame" Barnhill, Rick Montana, and Mickey "The Hammer" Henry through Alabama Championship Wrestling and American Championship Wrestling. Throughout his career, he competed under the names Karnage, Soldado Loco, Cyberkill, and The Explosive Landmine for promotions across the United States and Mexico, including NWA-affiliated organizations and numerous independent wrestling companies through the southern regions and West Coast.

Known for his hard-hitting style, Paulson became a respected competitor in hardcore and deathmatch wrestling, participating in extreme contests featuring barbed wire, razor wire, exploding boards, thumbtacks, shattered glass, fire, cactus, mouse traps, bug zappers and other high-risk stipulations. He is recognized as the first Arizona Deathmatch Champion.

Today, Paulson remains active within the professional wrestling industry, working behind the scenes with promotions throughout the United States, Mexico, and Japan. His work includes graphic design, merchandise development, promotional branding, video editing, television production, and creative media services, helping organizations expand their reach and strengthen their visual identity.

As a voice actor and puppeteer, Paulson has portrayed more than one hundred characters across independent productions, animated projects, live performances, and entertainment programming, demonstrating a wide range of vocal and performance talents.

Outside of wrestling, Paulson is a multi-instrumentalist proficient in bass guitar, piano, keyboards, and synthesizers. Performing under the name The Backwoods Butcher, he blended heavy metal and hip-hop within the horrorcore genre. He also performed as The Dead End Kid with Rotted Heart Club throughout the underground pop punk music scene.

Paulson established himself as a shock-jock radio personality through Detroit Unplugged, 99.1 OZ Radio, Hellfire Radio, and Scaryface Media. Programs such as The Chop Block showcased his outspoken interview style and commentary on entertainment, horror films, current events, haunted house venues , independent culture, and the professional wrestling industry.

In 2016, Paulson created The Dead Vault Horror Show, portraying the character The Keymaster. The series helped revive the classic horror host tradition for modern audiences through Roku, Amazon Fire TV, YouTube, public access television, and independent streaming platforms, earning him recognition as Arizona's modern television horror host.

As the founder of Haxx Studios in Tucson, Arizona, Paulson has produced independent programming, podcasts, commercials, promotional content, graphics, and multimedia projects for entertainers, businesses, and organizations. He has also co-founded Arizona's Film Preservation Board and has served as a judge for several independent film festivals.

Paulson hosts The Citizen Soldier Podcast, releasing new episodes weekly. The program focuses on motivation, mental resilience, health, fitness, nutrition, tactical awareness, personal accountability, addiction recovery, crime prevention, current events, investigative reporting, and community engagement while encouraging listeners to become stronger both mentally and physically.

In recent years, Paulson has increasingly focused on independent journalism and investigative reporting in Arizona, covering topics including crime, public safety, corruption, and community concerns. He has publicly stated that his reporting has resulted in sustained harassment and death threats from individuals he believes are connected to organized criminal activity.
