Biography

Gearoid McDaid was born in County Sligo, Ireland. He is known for Hounds of the Storm (2023), Waking Maeve (2010) and Celtic Wave (2023).

Gearoid is a 7 time Irish senior surf champion (2013, 2015-17, 2022-2024). He finished in 4th place overall at 2017 Euro Surf Games in Norway & 4th place at the European Junior Surfing Championships (U18 Boys), Azores. He won a silver Medal at the 2023 Euro surf Championship. In 2025, he won the gold medal making him the first Irishman to win the European Surf Championship.
