- As he grew, he had also dabbled in theatre. After one such play in Anakapalle, Andhra Pradesh, at midnight he returned to his room and next day morning he was found dead. He was in his mid-twenties. His death remained a mystery.
- He was the first child star to play a dual role in Telugu films, which he played in Raju-Peda (1954), the Telugu remake of the English-language film The Prince and the Pauper (1937).
- His mother Chithajallu Sundarimani was a popular stage actress in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh and also acted in minor roles in a few movies. Her husband Magapu Sambamurthy was a harmonium player.
