Biography

Marta Cunningham is an international award winning director, writer and executive producer. Marta's versatility in storytelling has garnered her two News and Documentary Emmy Award nominations. She is just at home telling important stories for HBO like her award winning documentary Valentine Road to HBO's beloved dramedy Insecure to Amazon's hit drama series Modern Love.

Marta began her professional career in the arts at fourteen as a ballet dancer for corp de ballet with Peninsula Ballet Theatre in the Bay Area. When she landed in LA her first film, Valentine Road earned her numerous awards and played over 200 festivals world wide. She has been nominated three times for NAACP awards for her work on Amazon's award winning series Transparent and AMC's thriller 61st street.
