Matthew Stalletti is a 26-year-old award-winning Canadian writer-director, producer, and founder of Mafftech Productions and Mafftech Interactive. He is best known for The Wicked: Reborn (2024), which won 10 international awards, including Best Director and Best Actor at Canadian Screen Award-qualifying festivals. Following the film’s success, Matthew began exploring the pressures that come with early momentum, an experience that shaped his interest in stories about ambition, integrity, and personal responsibility.
Matthew’s work combines emotionally grounded character stories with visually ambitious genre filmmaking. His hands-on experience across writing, directing, editing, and producing has given him a strong understanding of independent filmmaking and the challenges facing emerging artists navigating the space between aspiration and authenticity. His work has screened internationally and earned recognition for its originality, world building, and performances.
Through Mafftech Productions, Matthew is developing a slate of film and television projects exploring success, vulnerability, and the human cost of ambition while championing Canadian talent and perspectives.
