Barbara Gao Shapiro grew up in Chandler, Arizona and graduated from Corona del Sol High School. She attended the University of Pennsylvania, earning dual degrees from the Wharton School (Finance) and the College of Arts and Sciences (History).
After several years working on Wall Street, she changed careers to work in education, and now leads a strategic consulting firm, Blueprint to Great Schools, that works with K-12 and college educational leaders to rapidly improve outcomes.
As a testament to her commitment to lifelong learning, she is delighted to have had multiple once-in-a-lifetime experiences as a game-show contestant. She resides in New York City with her husband and family.
