- Markos Seferlis is a Greek comedian, actor, writer, director and television presenter, best known for his long career in comedy and Greek revue theatre. He studied acting at the Mary Vogiatzi-Traga Higher Drama School, graduating with distinction, and began appearing on television in the late 1980s. He subsequently established himself in both television and theatre, with the latter becoming the central focus of his career, particularly through comedy and revue performances. From the late 1990s onward, Seferlis developed a sustained theatrical career, working with prominent Greek comedians and actors and appearing in numerous productions. His work combines acting with improvisation and direct interaction with the audience, while his performances frequently draw on contemporary popular culture and recognizable comic characters. Suite Birthday was among his early theatrical successes, while his later work increasingly placed him at the center of his own productions. Since 2004, Seferlis has taken a broader creative and production role, assuming responsibility not only for performing but also for writing, casting, directing and producing his shows. This has made him a particularly self-directed figure in contemporary Greek comedy. Alongside theatre, he has maintained a substantial television career, including the entertainment program MEGA me mia (2014) and the game shows 5x5 (2021) and I mama mou mageirevei kalytera apo ti diki sou (2015). He has also appeared in film and musical theatre, including the musical Hairspray. His career is therefore characterized by his versatility across performance, writing and production, with revue theatre remaining the principal field through which he has developed his distinctive comic style and maintained a strong connection with Greek audiences.
