Maria and her parents were rescued by US military cargo ships during the Vietnam War and relocated to two refugee camps, Guam, then, Fort Chafee, Arkansas. Her family was sponsored and moved to Belton, Missouri where she grew up.
She believes that every day is a great privilege of interviewing and sharing success stories to uplift and create a positive impact.
