Nina Agustí was discovered by Xavier Cugat, and with him she took her first steps in show business. Cugat introduced her to Narciso Ibáñez Serrador who invited her to appear as a singer in the sixth season of Un, dos, tres... responda otra vez (1972) in 1987. After the summer break, Nina had been chosen by Chicho to join the team of secretaries for the rest of the season, and so be part of the program for good, a work that made her very famous in Spain thanks to the numerous musicals numbers she performed in the show and her strong and powerful voice.

After that sixth season was finished, she started her musical career. One year later, in 1989, she was chosen by TVE to be the Spanish representative for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Nacida para amar", composed by Juan Carlos Calderón. She finished in sixth position.

Unfortunately, her musical career wasn't as successful, and the same happened with her TV appearances. During the 1990s, she almost disappeared from national TV. She only did the mini-series Entre naranjos (1998). In Catalonia, she appeared in a couple of series. These days, Nina had focused her career on stage plays and musicals.

But her TV career wasn't gone for good. In 2001, she came back to the top when she joined the crew of the hit show Operación triunfo (2001), as the director of the Academy of Artists. There, she regained all the fame and glory she had during the 80s. Nina stayed in the show for three seasons, from 2001 to 2004.

Then, the show was canceled from TVE due to low ratings, and Nina decided to return to musicals, joining the cast of the Spanish version of the popular musical "Mamma mia" based on ABBA songs. Because of this successful work, she couldn't join the fourth season of "Operación Triunfo" that was beginning in summer 2005 in the private national channel Telecinco. The TV show was being made in Barcelona, and Nina had to be in Madrid to do "Mamma mia".

Nevertheless, she has appeared in a couple of programs of this four seasons, first to bid good luck to the participants, and then to sing a song of the musical, "Va todo al ganador" ("The Winner Takes It All").
