Elizabeth Ababio is an African-American actress, director, writer and producer who grew up in Vancouver, Canada. She was raised by a single mother who encouraged her love for the arts, putting her in theatre by the age of 10. Elizabeth quickly developed a love for dramatic storytelling (whether she is writing or acting it). Her tastes include thrillers, suspense, murder mysteries and dramas.
Self-publishing her own novel at the age of 16, she began studying 2D animation at the Art Institute of Vancouver before switching to Langara College where she joined the LCFA Program and majored in the Film Arts Directing and Writing Programs. During the course she wrote and produced two short films: "Presentation", "To Keep Her Safe" while directing two more: "Detective Ultra" and "Sanctuary". With these films she screened at the Whistler Film Festival, won the 3rd place Audience Choice Award at Langara's Unlock the Vault event, and aided the child actress, Viva Lee, in winning her first Joey award.
Following graduation, Elizabeth placed in the Top 5 at the MAMM Film Festival under VAFF, starred in Shakespeare Sings for the Vancouver Fringe Festival, acted in commercials for the Vancouver Aquarium and Farmers Insurance and opened her own animation company called Prosperity Studios. Her first show, "Paragons of Xithea" is set to release on Youtube sometime this year.
