Annette Shadeya is a Kenyan screenwriter and Head of Narrative at 8278a Film Studio, based in Nairobi. She is known for her work on MTV Shuga Mashariki (2025), Country Queen (2022) and Second Family (2023). Her writing spans genres - though she has a deep love for drama, she also excels in thriller and crime stories - with a particular emotional draw toward family-centered and young-adult narratives.
Annette honed her craft at the Africa Digital Media Institute (ADMI), where she graduated as valedictorian before embarking on her professional writing career. At 8278a Film Studio she not only writes but shapes the overall narrative direction of projects, serving as Head of Narrative. In addition, she works as a story editor and script consultant - helping scripts evolve from concept to screen.
Driven by a lifelong passion for storytelling and art, Annette sees writing as her vocation.
