Jon Osbeck
- Actor
- Producer
- Director
Jon Osbeck is an independent film producer, director, and actor whose perspective on filmmaking has been honed both behind the scenes and in front of the lens. With a versatile career spanning narrative features, documentaries, and commercial media, Jon brings a blend of creative vision and logistical expertise to every project he champions.
On the narrative front, Jon has built a dynamic slate of award-winning independent films. Most recently, he co-wrote, directed, and produced the feature film Down to the Felt, which earned a World Premiere at the Cinequest Film Festival, an Official Selection at the Cleveland International Film Festival, and the Audience Choice for Narrative Feature at Cinema Columbus (additionally placing as a Finalist at the LA International Screenplay Awards). He also served as Co-Executive Producer on Jimmy (World Premiere, Heartland Film Festival) and as producer and co-director on My Mother the Madam. This builds upon the success of his earlier feature Minus One, which he wrote, co-directed, and starred in, taking home Best Narrative Feature at the GI Film Festival.
Beyond narrative cinema, Jon partners with The Film Forge, producing and directing high-level commercial and documentary content. He pairs this creative vision with a heavy logistical foundation, anchored by 14 years spent in the corporate trenches as a producer, writer, and editor.
Jon’s work as a filmmaker is deeply informed by his ongoing career as a working actor. With notable screen credits including A Man Called Otto, A League of Their Own, Dark Waters, and The Public, his time on major studio sets has given him invaluable insight into the production process. Having spent years taking direction and inhabiting characters, Jon brings a profound understanding of the actor's craft to his own directing.
Jon’s mission across every project is the same: to champion authentic, character-driven stories and create the collaborative environments where they can be brought to life.
