  • Jupp Schmitz was one of the most famous people of the Cologne carnival season. He often performed the song "Am Aschermittwoch ist alles vorbei". He also wrote and performed famous evergreens such as "Wer soll das bezahlen", "Bella Bimba" and "Wir kommen alle in den Himmel". In 1991, shortly after his 90th birthday, he appeared at the Cologne carnival for a last time.
