- Martin was born in England, raised in Canada and now resides in New York City. After starting off as an actor with the world renowned Second City in Toronto, Martin combined his love of comedy and film into a career as a director. He as been directing commercials around the world since 1994. Starting in Toronto, he relocated to New York City in 1999. Since then he has directed hundreds of commercials for global clients such as, Ikea, Geico, Budweiser, Bud Light,Miller Lite, Fed Ex, Coca Cola, ESPN, EA Sports, Burger King, McDonald's, Orbit Gum, Skittles, Enterprise Rent A Car, Washington Mutual, Comcast, Wrigley's, Dr.Pepper 10, MiO, Kraft, AT&T, Verizon, Discover Card, Chrysler and Toyota, to name a few. In the process he has been awarded a dizzying array of international advertising awards, including a much coveted Gold Lion from the Cannes Advertising Awards. His commercials have aired during such must see events as The Super Bowl, The Oscars and The Golden Globes. Several of his commercial campaigns are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. He is currently represented internationally by the production company, Moxie Pictures. He is also repped for long form work by Jason Burns at UTA.
