Biography

Jack Ashley was born on December 6, 1922 in Widnes, Cheshire, England, UK. He was a producer and director, known for Waiting for Work (1960), Panorama (1953) and Adventure in Industry (1957). He was married to Pauline Kay Crispin. He died on April 20, 2012.

A former television producer turned Labour party politician and member of the House of Lords as Baron Ashley of Stoke. Also a disability campaigner, he was completely deaf from 1968 until 1993 when he had a cochlear implant operation. Father of journalist Jackie Ashley.
