Jerome Covington-artist, educator, minister, and entrepreneur-founded Covington Select Casting Agency, a new venture launched in 2025 to meet the evolving needs of inclusive, purpose-driven storytelling. Born in Hawaii and raised in San Diego as the child of a military family, Jerome's global upbringing gave him a unique lens on culture, identity, and human connection. These experiences laid the foundation for his passion to minister across boundaries and to use his creative gifts to impact lives. In 2009, Jerome embraced his calling after hearing the words, "I gave you a gift... use it!" From that moment, he began his journey as JSpeaks The Poet-a scribe, songwriter, and spoken word artist determined to speak truth, hope, and healing. His musical catalog includes Why JSpeaks (2016), A Different Dynamic EP, and the inspirational single "God Is Greater." He continues to record and release faith-driven content with bold authenticity, including his latest project, "You Think You Know Me?" Beyond music, Jerome's talents extend to acting and stage production. His credits include Judgement Day, Speak Out: A Domestic Violence Stage Play, Da Dealership, and Love Shouldn't Hurt. Whether performing or producing, Jerome finds joy in every aspect of storytelling, especially those that uplift under served voices and marginalized communities. This passion led him to found Covington Select Casting Agency, a casting service rooted in faith, creativity, and equity. The agency connects visionary creators with a rich pool of actors, extras, and voice talent for film, TV, music videos, and commercials. Through a collaborative and efficient model, Covington Select champions representation that reflects the fullness of human experience. Its mission: "To elevate storytelling by offering inclusive, professional, and efficient casting solutions that are purpose-driven, inspiring, and rooted in a commitment to meaningful representation." In addition to his artistic and entrepreneurial work, Jerome is an educator and humanitarian. He volunteers with Speak Out Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending domestic violence in Houston and beyond. A minister of creativity, Jerome's ultimate goal is to use his gifts to draw others closer to God, to provoke thought, and to inspire change through art that transcends entertainment. With every poem, every casting decision, and every performance, Jerome Covington seeks to illuminate truth, restore dignity, and empower the voices that need to be heard.
