Biography

Masaaki Ôsumi was born in 1934 in Hyogo, Japan. He is a director and writer, known for Run Melos! (1992), Lupin the Third Part 1 (1971) and Mûmin (1969).

He discovered Yasuo Yamada while he was performing on stage. He was casting for 'Lupin III: Part 1' at the time. After the performance, he approached Yamada and said, "Lupin, do you want to do it?".
