Biography

Darren Hanvey is an award winning theatre actor for his dramatic portrayal of Henderson the Warden, in a 1997 Los Angeles Production of Paper Angeles written in 1980 by Genny Lim about Chinese immigration detainees in 1915 to Angel Island. He has acted in numerous shows including co-staring alongside La Wanda Page in 1990 for The Inquest of Sam Cooke. Darren was a member of the American Repertory Theatre Company and played Reverend Hale in the Crucible. He then got cast as Orsino, Casca and Cambridge in Shakespeare productions for The Pacific Repertory Theatre. Soon after as Captain Taylor in the Los Angeles production of A Soldier’s Story by Charles Fuller. Known for crafting memorable performances he can be seen next in the short film Nails as the Coroner and a new web series, What About Me by William Lott. His Television credits go back to 1993 Nickelodeon’s All That and Disney XD’s Pair of Kings as the Royal Rooster. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and has three children.
