Was involved in a long relationship with songwriter Leonard Cohen, whom she met in 1960 in the artists colony on the Greek island of Hydra. This was shortly after her first husband, novelist Axel Jensen, had abandoned her and their child there for another woman. Her relationship with Cohen lasted until approximately 1972.
