Lorna McCoid (she/her) is a Writer, Director and Assistant Director in film and theatre. She trained as a director at the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse (2019-22) and as a writer at the Royal Court Liverpool (2021).
Her film directing credits include "Titania" (post-production), "First Time Buyer" (2024), "Hamlet" (2024) and "The Art Collector" (2018). She has directed over 40 acting showreels for the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (2022-23). Her music video directing credits include "Bitter" (2025) "People Pleaser" Rachel Newnham (2024), "Nobody Loves You Like I Do" Rachel Newnham (2023), "No One Knows" Ben Gorb (2021), "Knew It Was" Mazed (2021), "Until the Wheels Stop Turning" Rob Crampton (2020) and "Goodbye" Ben Gorb (2020).
Her theatre directing credits include three R&D performances of the Shakespearean queer adaptation "Rosalie and Juliet" Etcetera Theatre (2023), "Silent Cicada" Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse (2022), "Almost Adult" Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2022), "Icing Sugar" Liverpool Everyman Theatre (2021) and "Down Came the Rain" Unity Theatre (2019). Lorna has written and directed work for several theatre scratch nights.
Furthermore, she has worked as a DIT/Video and Camera Trainee for productions by HBO, Sky Drama, Apple TV, Paramount and the BBC. Lorna is represented as a DIT/Video Trainee by the agency Digital Orchard. In addition, she has worked as an Assistant Director for independent feature films and short films (2025-26). Lorna has worked as a Production Designer for the short film "Emma" produced by Tedium Entertainment and Four Eyes Productions (2023) and "The Awakening" produced by Artica Films (2024).
