Biography

Tal Farlow was born on June 7, 1921 in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA. He was an actor, known for Jersey Artists for Mankind: We've Got the Love (1986), A Smattering of Spots (1958) and Talmage Farlow (1981). He was married to Michele Griffith Hyk and Ernestine (Zwirlein) Loewe. He died on July 25, 1998 in Manhattan, New York, USA.

Inducted into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame in 1996.

Upon his death, his remains were interred at Old Collegiate Dutch Church Cemetery in New York City.

Noted for a fruitful collaboration in the 1950's with Red Norvo and Charles Mingus. Led his own trio by the end of the decade, recording for Blue Note and Verve Records.

Began playing guitar in 1942. Prior to that, he worked as a sign painter.
