  • Allen Huntspon is a three-time Emmy®-nominated Executive Producer and Director and a two-time Peabody Award-winning journalist. He is best known for directing Street Somm, the Daytime Emmy®- and James Beard-nominated television series streaming on Netflix, and for his documentary and live broadcast work at CNN.

    Allen has 20 years of experience producing hundreds of hours of television across broadcast news, documentary, and premium nonfiction. His credits include CNN Presents: Black in America, CNN Presents: Eyewitness to Murder: The King Assassination, and additional documentary specials for CNN Presents, including Scream Bloody Murder, Palin Revealed, and Her Name Was Steven. At Larry King Live, he produced live broadcast programming, oversaw editorial video integration, and managed music reporting and rights verification with BMI and ASCAP. He later served as a lead writer-producer for CNN Newsroom, where he co-created the network’s first original reality format, Education Makeover, and wrote for CNN’s flagship anchors, scripting live global across politics, sports, legal cases, and pivotal cultural moments, including initiating CNN’s coverage of the death of Trayvon Martin. His work at CNN earned recognition from the News & Documentary Emmy® Awards, Peabody Awards, NAACP Image Awards®, New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, the New York Association of Black Journalists, and the GLAAD Media Awards.

    Huntspon later joined VICE Media as a Director on the original team launching Viceland, the TV channel, directing long-form documentary programming. His Viceland credits include Gaycation (Season 2), and his work during this period earned a Primetime Emmy® nomination, a GLAAD Media Award nomination, and a Global Entertainment Marketing Award.

    Additional credits include directing the Zillow docuseries Finding Home in America, which received a Streamy Award nomination, and serving as Supervising Producer on YouTube Originals series Issa Rae’s Bear Witness Take Action 3, recognized by Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD Foundation, and Tastemade Studios' A New Green Book. His work has also been recognized with a Shorty Award for an Alzheimer’s awareness campaign produced with CAA.

    He is the Founder and CEO of One Story Media Group and a graduate of Morehouse College.
