Biography

Muh Chen is a renowned TVC & MV director based in Taiwan and widely contributed in Asia.

Since graduating from Taiwan University of Arts with a Film major, he has dedicated the past decade of his career to direct breathtaking visual artworks by integrating filmmaking arts and digital technology in CG/VFX. His works has won numerous international visual awards including SIGGRAPH Asia ,Germany Red Dot Design Award, Germany iF Design Award, Design For Asia Award , MTVEMA Europe Music Award, VMAJ Japan MTV Music Award,Taiwan Golden Melody Award, Golden Taiwan Horse Award, Good Design Award , animago AWARD, STASH magazine showcase etc.

His portfolio represents his unique sense in visual presentation:edgy, glamorous and full of dedicate details.

His works is a refreshing voice that guarantees a perfect synergy of live-action and CG/VFX across various media resources and platforms. His TVC clients include the most popular international brands such as Pepsi, Nike, PUMA Sports, P&G, Ford China, Heineken, Unilever, Mercedes-Benz, Canon Chi-na, Sony Taiwan. Additionally, his MV and Movie clients include the most outstanding pop-icons: Namie Amuro, GLAY-TERU, Aaron Kwok, Faye Wong (collaborating with WongKarWai), Bo Huang, Tony Leung, Hugh, May Day , A-Mei, Jolin Tsai, Jay Chou, S.H.E, Jane Zhang, Chiling Lin, Yanzi Sun, Show Lo, Sodagreen, Wu Bai, Rainie Yang, Wilber Pan and MoMo and Wu Elva etc.

In 2013, a Pepsi television commercial featuring Momo Wu built up impressive brand awareness. Its music video version broke a record for music videos in Chinese-speaking Asia with a 100 million click-through rate over an internet media platform.

In 2005, Muh Chen founded his own production studio: GrassJelly (grassjelly.tv) in Taipei, which provides thorough visual production services from directing to CG, VFX and live-action. Grass Jelly has become one of the best visual production companies in Asia as it successfully draws wide media attention, and is invited to participate cross-country, high-end campaigns for television commercials and music videos.
