Biography

Anna Hannah Rezan is an award winning Greek American actress and director that was born to a lawyer, who wanted to become an actress and to a federal judge who wanted to become a director. She is of Greek American Jewish (from her maternal grandparents), Spanish, Polish, and Greek from Izmir and Crete descent. Rezan grew up in Athens, Greece and began acting as a child on the stage of a Club Med in the hotel's theatrical(musical) shows.

At the age of 8 she had already decided that she wanted to make acting, her career.She appeared in many more productions through her early teens.The story is that she was staging theatrical plays with friends after school and directed her first short film at the age of 9, using her father's video camera in an attempt to persuade her parents to "allow" her to become an actress.

.Renowned for her versatile performances across film, television, and stage...from "The Good Wife" to the pages of Instyle magazine and the catwalks of NYC... Anna Rezan began her career in her early teens by appearing in Greek films and television series which was followed by her international breakthrough In film and music projects. She has collaborated with international icons such as Mikis Theodorakis, Julio Iglesias, Paul McCartney, Amos Poe and Roberto Benigni. A highly trained singer and dancer, she holds a BA in Journalism, speaks many languages, and has performed in various accents .Her directorial debut My People (2023) is a documentary about the holocaust and the Greek resistance during WWII, produced by her and multi-Academy Award winners Mitchell Block and Kim Magnusson . The feature documentary premiered at the Vail Film Festival to rave reviews and went on to win awards at various film festivals and was released worldwide in 2025. Furthermore she starred in action sci-fi film "City Rush 4" that was acquired by Amazon, she co produced a documentary focusing on the Makronisos concentration camp and she portrays Aphrodite in fantasy film "Mr Blue Shirt". Rezan has a global presence, in 2026 co-starring in the second season of the hit TV series "Great Kills" with Eric Roberts.

[on personal style] To begin with, I believe that we should dress up every day and not only for a costume party or Halloween if we feel like it! My style really depends on my mood, and to be realistic on my schedule...I love my casual moments and my dressy moments equally.

My creations aim to focus on the positive side of life and to promote focusing in solutions. It all started when as a child in this industry, I wanted to make people laugh or to inspire and encourage them, as myself I was and still, I am inspired by other people, films, songs, art, etc. When it's possible and appropriate I aim to promote health, happiness, laughter, joy, love, self-discovery and success in life.

[on My People (2023) ] started to develop the project with Zaf, a dear friend in the industry whose work I deeply admire. He accepted the call to start creating this film with me, no matter if it seemed an impossible task at the beginning, dealing with the complexities, the horrific subject matter and most importantly the sense of an enormous responsibility.

[on what superpower she would like to have] To live forever if I want to for the obvious reasons.

[on her producing and directing My People (2023)] We hope it will spark a new beginning and awareness into understanding Greece's role in the protection of persecuted people, and how Greece still plays a vital role in the support of human rights today.
