Cara Shaffer(II)

Originally from Maryland, Cara is an actress, flutist, writer, producer, dancer, casting director, voice-over artist and stand-up comedienne and graduated from the theatre department at Towson University. Her ideal project is a sitcom like Friends or The Kids are Alright. She can play anything from the tough cop to the quirky best friend! Cara has been an actor since she was 5 years old and a flutist since she was 8 years old. She has even played with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra

Cara created Waking Venus with James Brown-Orleans, her friend from college, in 2018 while living in New York. She starred in, co-wrote the story, cast and co-produced the project. Her goal for this short film was to not only help herself heal from her abusive childhood but to shine a light upon this very serious issue that affects millions of women every day and, hopefully, in turn offer guidance/help for this community. As a result, she has been able to create a solid project for her and her fellow actors and, most importantly, forgive herself for something that wasn't her fault.

Waking Venus premiered in the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, screened at the Long Island Festival and at the All Voices Film Festival with plenty of 5 stars!
