Sarah Nicholls is an Australian-British director drawn to stories that explore identity, femininity and human connection. She enjoys directing stories that make you feel an uncomfortable familiarity and present flawed yet relatable characters.
Her debut short film, Crossfire, received recognition at the London Independent Film Festival and won awards at the Los Angeles Independent Shorts Awards, including Best Women Short and Best First-Time Female Director. Since then, she has directed music videos for Eve Christina and ECKOES, and many more short films, including one based in Sydney, Australia.
At the heart of Sarah’s work is a love for crafting emotionally honest performances with actors. She is especially committed to telling stories led by complex female characters and is passionate about authentic queer representation in film and television.
