Beth Hornby

Beth Hornby is a Canadian screen actor based in Toronto, Ontario. She made her acting debut in 2018 following a successful career in journalism and sports communications. Since transitioning to screen, Beth has appeared in a diverse range of productions, including Star Trek, The Handmaid’s Tale, Dark Side of the Ring, Five Days at Memorial, and The Jane Mysteries. Before entering the entertainment industry, Beth was a competitive rower. She earned a full NCAA scholarship to the University of Minnesota, where she competed on the women’s rowing team. At the height of her athletic career, she was named Rowing Canada’s Female Sculler of the Year and selected to the All-Big Ten First Team. Beth began her media career as a writer and editor covering amateur sports for NBC and CBC. As website editor for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, she created and hosted the official video and audio podcasts of the Games, interviewing athletes, delegates, and other notable figures. The experience sparked her passion for on-camera storytelling and led her back to the University of Minnesota to study broadcast journalism and further develop her skills in video production. Today, Beth continues to build her career in film and television while lending her experience to film festivals and sports organizations.
