Lewis Whyld is an Emmy-winning FPV pilot and drone cinematographer specialising in technically demanding aerial and indoor FPV camera work for broadcast, documentary, film and commercial productions. As the founder of the production company Whyldthings, he provides specialist FPV and drone cinematography for global broadcast, feature films, and commercial campaigns.
With a career defined by technical innovation, Whyld is a pioneer in bespoke drone engineering, designing custom flight platforms for technically demanding environments. His credits range from precision-permitted interior fly-throughs in world-class heritage sites, such as Notre Dame Cathedral, to high-speed tracking and hostile environment filming in the Arctic and the wars in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Gaza and Somalia.
His work is trusted by the world's leading media organisations, including HBO, CNN, Warner Bros. Discovery, National Geographic, and the BBC. In addition to the Emmy win he is a 6-time Emmy nominee and has been honoured with a Foreign Press Award, an RTS Award, and an Online Journalism Award (OJA) for his contributions to news technology and video journalism.
